COMMISSIONING THE PROJECT
Commissioning a custom built 1911 is a special thing. It represents a commitment not just to the 1911 platform, but also to the builder who you have chosen to create your one-of-a-kind masterpiece. It shows a level of trust in the maker and that he understands exactly what the end-user wants and needs in a pistol. I take this trust and commitment very seriously. As both a builder and shooter this means understanding what the true purpose for the pistols is and committing myself to each gun individually until it is suitable for the task at hand. Each pistol is hand-made one at a time, to craft a complete full-house 1911. This ensures my clients receive nothing but the best I have to offer.
Starting the journey towards your ideal custom 1911 is straightforward. It begins with a conversation to establish that your desires for a custom 1911 are within the scope of my work. Every pistol I build is a mutual vision between client and craftsman; our compatibility and cooperative harmony insures a rewarding end to our collaborative efforts. My work is typically performed on customer supplied base guns from Colt or Springfield Armory and, due to the bespoke nature of my work, the actual build time for each gun will vary. This lead-time, however, is a good opportunity to begin considering some of the finer points for your project. Take a look through the website, study the works featured in the photo gallery, and discover many options, variations, and details that can be incorporated into your custom gun. When it’s your turn at my bench and I’m ready to start your project I will contact you to discuss and solidify the details of your build. At that time I will secure an initial deposit for the work that is about to commence.

THE STANDARDS
Much of what I do is similar to a fine artist. Instead of painting a picture, my canvas is the 1911 pistol. This canvas requires a standard from which I begin each build. Click to learn more.
